Self Catering in the Peak District

Callow Cottages are located on Callow Top Holiday Park situated just north of the picturesque market town of Ashbourne. They offer family self catering in the Peak District. Nestling within a delightful elevated country setting, overlooking the Dove valley,Callow Top is the ideal base for that annual family holiday or a weekend break.

The holiday park amenities are perfect for families and use of all facilities is included for guests staying in Callow Cottages. During peak season there's plenty to keep children busy. We have heated outdoor swimming and paddling pools (May to September), adventure playground, sports field (with football pitch, sand pit and volleyball court), pool, table tennis and table football and an arcade. There is also live entertainment three nights a week.

The focal point of the park is the old farmhouse which has been converted into the Callow Inn serving real ale and a selection of good pub food. We have our very own brewery and our award winning brews are also available.

Callow Top has a small lake and specially constructed bird hide. The lake is for coarse fishing and as a habitat for wildlife. (An additional charge applies for fishing).

There are many attractions within easy reach of Callow Cottages. Golf, pony trekking,water sports, caving and fishing are all available locally. Why not visit one of the many stately homes in the area including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and Sudbury Hall. For the more adventurous Alton Towers is only 20 minutes drive away. Take a trip down a cavern or spend the afternoon in one of the picturesque historic towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell, Buxton or Matlock.

Please note that the availability of all amenities, including the Callow Inn may vary according to the time of season. From November to the week before Easter none of the holiday park facilities (including the pub) are available, however you can still enjoy a peaceful holiday here at Callow Top.

We have two beautiful oak beamed cottages given a 3 star rating by the English Tourism Council. The smaller of the two sleeps up to 5 people and the larger up to 7 people. Both are tastefully decorated and have fully fitted oak dining kitchens with cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, coffee maker, hoover, iron and board. Laundry facilities and a pay phone are available on site.The sitting rooms have TV, video, radio/CD player. Car parking is at the rear of the cottages. Each cottage has its own enclosed yard with table and chairs. Both cottages offer excellent self catering near to the Peak District and the use of the Parks amenities.

The cottages are semi detached and therefore ideal for a large family group to stay in.

Bedding and linen is provided. Towels are available for hire. Heating and electricity is included.

Cots and high chairs can be provided on request.

Cottage number 1. Sleeps 5/7 in one double bedroom with additional single bed. 1 bunk room and a double sofa bed in the lounge.

Cottage number 2. Sleeps 3/5 in one double bedroom, a single bed and a double sofa bed in the lounge.

Short breaks are available with a minimum 3 night booking. Please contact us for details of prices. We regret that short breaks are not available during July, August or school holidays. There is a minimum booking of 1 week during these times. Change over day is Saturday.
